Why is the status of the Amazon MCF orders not being updated in TikTok Seller Center?

TikTok sellers closely monitor their Late Dispatch Rate (LDR)—the percentage of orders not marked as Shipped within 2–3 business days. TikTok’s target LDR is below 4%.
LDR is a critical performance metric because it reflects seller reliability. Maintaining a low LDR helps:

  • Build buyer trust
  • Improve product visibility
  • Avoid penalties such as reduced order volume limits, which can negatively impact sales

Because of this, it’s essential that order statuses in TikTok Seller Center are updated accurately and on time—whether orders are fulfilled directly by the seller or via Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF).

This article explains how orders move across TikTok, Helium 10, and Amazon, and what can be done when delays occur.

Prerequisites:

Before proceeding, confirm the following:

  • The TikTok order appears in Helium 10's Inventory Management
  • The same order appears in Amazon Seller Central

If the order is missing from either platform, verify that your TikTok Seller account is properly set up for Amazon MCF. Refer to the relevant setup article if needed:

Important: TikTok and Amazon do not communicate directly. Helium 10 acts as the bridge, capturing and forwarding order details and status updates between the two platforms.

Order Status Flow Across Platforms

Below is the typical sequence of events after a TikTok order is placed.

1. Order Placement (TikTok → Helium 10)

  • A new TikTok order is placed, and it appears in Helium 10 Inventory Management within a few minutes.
  • In the TikTok Seller Center, the order status is displayed as “On Hold.”

  • In Inventory Management:
    • TikTok Order Status: On Hold or Awaiting Shipment
    • MCF Order Status: (blank)

At this stage, Helium 10 has acknowledged the order and is preparing to forward it to Amazon MCF.

2. Order Submission to Amazon MCF (Helium 10 → Amazon)

  • Within 3 hours, Helium 10 submits the order to Amazon.
  • Once acknowledged, the order appears in Amazon Seller Central under Manage Orders.
  • In Amazon Seller Central, the Order Status shows Planning.

  • In Inventory Management:
    • TikTok Order Status: Awaiting Shipment
    • MCF Order Status: New

Amazon now begins fulfillment.

Note: If the Order ID text turns red, it means that H10 encountered an unexpected issue while creating the MCF order. You can click the 'Action required' button to filter such orders, and then hover over the information icon to view the cause of the issue and the necessary action.

3. Order Shipment (Amazon → Helium 10 → TikTok)

  • Amazon MCF typically ships orders within 24 hours (rare delays may occur and are outside Helium 10’s control).
  • Once shipped:
    • Amazon generates a tracking number
    • Helium 10 captures this tracking number from Seller Central within 1 hour
    • Helium 10 forwards the tracking details to TikTok
    • Amazon Seller Central: Order Status = Shipped
  • Inventory Management:
    • TikTok Order Status: Awaiting Collection or In Transit
    • MCF Order Status: Processing or Complete

Helium 10’s role as the bridge between Amazon and TikTok is complete at this stage.

4. TikTok Tracking & Final Status Update

After receiving the tracking number, TikTok independently queries the courier (Amazon) for shipment updates.

  • Based on the courier response, TikTok updates the order status in Seller Center.
  • Ideally, TikTok performs this query immediately or within 24 hours.

However, delays can occur. When this happens, the order may remain stuck in “Awaiting Collection” in TikTok—even though Amazon has already shipped it.

How often and how quickly TikTok checks tracking updates depends entirely on TikTok’s internal system and is outside Helium 10’s control.

What Sellers Can Do

  • Many sellers simply wait for TikTok to complete its tracking query.
  • If the order is approaching the LDR deadline, some sellers manually update the tracking information in TikTok Seller Center to avoid late dispatch penalties.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why is my Amazon MCF order still showing as “Awaiting Collection” in TikTok Seller Center even though Amazon Seller Center shows that the package has already been delivered?

This usually happens when TikTok has not yet queried the courier (Amazon) for tracking updates. Even if the order is already marked as 'Shipped' in Amazon Seller Central and the MCF status in Helium 10 Inventory Management is already 'Processing' or 'Complete'. TikTok controls when and how often it checks tracking information. Delays in this process can cause the order to remain in the “Awaiting Shipment” status in TikTok.

Q: Does Helium 10 control when the order status updates in TikTok?

No. Helium 10 acts as a bridge between Amazon and TikTok by forwarding order details and tracking numbers once Amazon ships the order. After the tracking number is sent to TikTok, Helium 10’s role is complete. Any further status updates depend entirely on TikTok’s internal tracking and query system.

Q: What can I do to avoid Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) penalties if TikTok hasn’t updated the order status?

If the order is nearing TikTok’s dispatch deadline and the status has not updated automatically, you may manually enter the tracking information in TikTok Seller Center. Many sellers use this approach to prevent late dispatch flags when TikTok’s tracking queries are delayed.

Q: When should I contact support?

  • If the TikTok order status is stuck at Awaiting Shipment and the MCF status in Helium 10 is blank for over an hour, usually there is a red tip appears after the order number.
  • If the TikTok Order Status is stuck at Awaiting Shipment even though the tracking number has appeared in Amazon Seller Central for over an hour.
