Helium 10’s Managed Refund Service (MRS) now supports a new claim type for Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD). This enhancement allows MRS to automatically detect, process, and submit AWD‑to‑FBA reimbursement claims—recovering revenue that previously could not be claimed.
Amazon’s AWD program enables sellers to store bulk inventory in Amazon-operated warehouses, where Amazon subsequently transfers the goods to FBA fulfillment centers. Although this AWD‑to‑FBA movement happens entirely within Amazon’s internal network, items can still be lost or misplaced.
MRS now properly identifies and processes AWD-to-FBA claims using Amazon’s approved method and wording, significantly improving reimbursement success rates.
What This Update Means for You
More Revenue Recovered
By supporting AWD‑specific claim rules, MRS can now recover funds that were previously unrecoverable through the standard inbound claim process. AWD‑to‑FBA claims have strong success rates.
Fewer Document Upload Requests
Previously, sellers were required to upload documentation for AWD shipments, even though Amazon does not provide merchant-side proof for AWD-to-FBA transfers. This caused unnecessary confusion.
With this update, MRS will no longer request documentation for AWD‑related records.
Clearer Claim Handling
AWD shipments will now be routed through the correct automated claim flow. This improves accuracy, reduces confusion, and provides more professional and consistent claim management.
Eligibility
AWD claim support currently applies to:
U.S. Amazon marketplaces only
Sellers who have enabled Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD)
If you do not use AWD, your MRS experience remains unchanged.
How It Works
1. Grant AWD Permissions
To process AWD‑to‑FBA claims, MRS requires additional AWD‑related access through your Amazon Seller Central account.
If permissions are missing, MRS will display a prompt instructing you to authorize AWD access.
2. Automatic Detection and Claim Submission
Once AWD permissions are enabled:
MRS will automatically detect AWD‑to‑FBA activity
Claims will be prepared and submitted using the correct AWD claim format
No document uploads are required from the seller
3. Improved Outcomes
Existing inbound claims involving AWD shipments will now benefit from upgraded logic, resulting in a higher success rate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to manually submit AWD claims?
No. Once AWD permissions are granted, MRS will automatically detect and submit claims on your behalf.
What happens if I don’t grant AWD permissions?
You will see an authorization prompt. Claims for AWD‑related shipments cannot be submitted until permissions are granted.
Will I still be asked to upload documents?
No. AWD‑to‑FBA claims do not require seller uploads.
Does this apply to non‑U.S. marketplaces?
Not at this time. AWD claim support currently applies only to U.S. sellers.
