Inventory Management Overview
Inventory Management is a new part of the Profits software platform. Currently, the Inventory Management features in Profits are only available to NA sellers, who must have their MWS token connected to use the tool.
The Inventory Management side of Profits can be managed using the six new navigational tabs inside Profits: Restock Solutions, Suppliers, Local Warehouse, Purchase Orders, Inbound Shipments and Settings. (If you aren’t selling in NA, or do not have your MWS token connected, you will not see these tabs.) This short tutorial presents a brief introduction to the inventory management tabs.
I. Restock Suggestions
The Restock Suggestions tab functions as the homebase for all of your inventory management data. It brings together--in a single window--all data relative to your inventory and provides recommendations for when to place orders or transfer products to Amazon.
Some of the key data included on this window are estimated days of supply left in stock, recommended reorder status, a forecasted reorder date, the number of products to reorder and their associated costs, as well as where in the process ordered products are currently located.
The Suppliers section of Inventory Manager allows you to organize and maintain a database of the manufacturers who make and ship your products to you. The suppliers you input here will appear in other tabs where you manage your inventory, like when you want to reorder.
Clicking on the Add New Supplier button opens a new window where you can add and save your supplier details.
Be sure to include the SKUs for the products you get from each supplier under the paired SKU tab.
III. Local Warehouse
Whether you have your inventory shipped from the manufacturers directly to Amazon warehouses (FBA), or to your own warehouses (MFN), or use a combination of both storage and delivery systems, the Helium 10 Inventory Management side of Profits lets you track and manage the location and quantity of all your products.
The Local Warehouse tab lets you track the stock you store in your own warehouses, either for MFN orders, or for restocking your Amazon warehouse product.
This integration of data within Profits means you will know when you should send products to Amazon from your own warehouse, rather than ordering new stock from the manufacturer, often saving you money in Amazon storage fees, while also responding more quickly to a sell-out threat in your FBA stock.
IV. Purchase Orders
Inventory Manager allows you to create and manage Purchase Orders directly from inside Helium 10 for all of the suppliers you’ve added to the Supplier database in Profits.
Clicking on a specific PO, allows you to see where in the shipment process an order is, and to take further actions in relationship to the order.
V. Inbound and Transfer Shipments
The Inbound FBA Shipments window is where you set up and monitor your product shipments to Amazon’s warehouse, whether from the manufacturer or from your own warehouse stock.
In Helium 10 a shipment from your supplier to Amazon is known as an Inbound Shipment. When you send products from your local warehouse to Amazon it’s referred to as a Transfer Shipment. Both Inbound Shipments and Transfer Shipments are treated the same way by Amazon, and by Inventory Manager.
Clicking on the shipment ID opens a more detailed window for that shipment, and offers a direct link into Seller Central to view the data inside Amazon.
On the Settings window, you can set up the conditions for your restock suggestions and the lead time for sending shipments from your local warehouse to Amazon.
