Keyword Tracker Video: How to View Keyword Ranks on a Heat Map

Helium 10’s Keyword Tracker includes a powerful Heat Map feature that provides a visual representation of keyword ranking trends over time. This view helps sellers quickly identify whether their keyword rankings are improving, declining, or remaining stable, without having to analyze individual graphs.

Why Heat Maps Matter

  • Quick Insights: Instead of checking each keyword graph, you get a color-coded snapshot of performance across multiple keywords.

  • Identify Trends: Easily spot ranking fluctuations and performance issues.

  • Make Smarter Decisions: Visual cues help you track the impact of campaigns, holidays, or other market events.

How to Access the Heat Map

  1. In Keyword Tracker, expand one of your tracked products.

  2. Click the “Heat Map” tab to view a timeline of your keyword ranks.

Understanding the Heat Map Colors

  • Green: High rankings (top of Page 1)

  • Yellow: Still on Page 1, but closer to the bottom

  • Orange: Page 2

  • Red: Not ranked (306+ position)

If you see "306+", that means Helium 10 couldn’t find your product in the top 306 results during the last check.

Feature Highlights

  • Page View Toggle: Switch to viewing just the page number instead of the specific rank (e.g., Page 1, Page 2, Page 7).

  • Time Orientation: You can reverse the timeline to show the most recent data on the left or right side, depending on your preference.

  • Holiday Indicators: Dates with holidays are marked with a small gift icon so you can analyze performance during those periods (e.g., Columbus Day).

  • Day of the Week: Helps identify weekly trends, like performance drops or gains every Monday.

  • Boost Data: If you’ve enabled Boost, red dots appear on the heat map. Clicking on the rank from those days shows your highest, lowest, and average rank.

  • Sponsored Rank View: Toggle to display your sponsored rank history alongside organic rank data.

  • Quick Access to Amazon: Click the button next to a keyword to instantly view live Amazon search results for that keyword.

Tips for Success

  • Use heat maps to measure the success of marketing campaigns or listing optimizations.

  • Spot sudden drops in rank and investigate potential causes.

  • Combine heat map insights with keyword graphs for a comprehensive view of performance.
