How to Use Cerebro's New Month-to-Month Keyword Comparison

Cerebro’s latest feature lets users analyze and compare keyword performance across multiple months for a single ASIN. This tool enables in-depth trend analysis, making it easier to identify shifts in keyword performance and adjust strategies accordingly. In this guide, we’ll cover how to use the month-to-month keyword comparison in Cerebro, including key settings, filters, and view options.

Why Month-to-Month Keyword Comparison Matters

Tracking keyword trends over time is essential for understanding shifts in product visibility and competitiveness on Amazon. This new feature in Cerebro makes it easier to analyze specific months side-by-side, helping users identify:

  • Keywords that gained or lost traction over time
  • Keywords that may have dropped in relevance
  • Seasonal or monthly keyword trends

By uncovering these insights, users can adapt their keyword strategies to improve their product’s visibility and sales.

How to Use Month-to-Month Comparison in Cerebro

  1. Start with a Single ASIN

    • Enter a single ASIN into Cerebro’s search bar.
Note: month-to-month comparison is available only for single ASIN searches. If you enter more than one ASIN, the comparison options for individual months will be disabled.
  2. Monthly Comparison Tab

    • Select the Monthly Comparison tab just below the search bar.
  3. Select Months to Compare

    • Use the calendar tool to pick up to three specific months for comparison. This allows you to view keyword data for these selected months side by side, making it easier to spot changes and trends.
  4. Set Filters

    • You can apply custom or preset filters to refine the keyword data displayed for each month. These filters allow you to focus on the most relevant metrics for your analysis.
  5. Apply Metrics Across Months (Optional)

    • An “Apply to All Months” option allows you to select specific metrics for one month and automatically apply them across all selected months, ensuring consistency in your data analysis.
  6. Analyze Key Columns and Metrics

    • Cerebro will display each keyword’s metrics in individual columns for the selected months. Here’s a breakdown of what each metric represents:
      • Keyword Distribution: Aggregates data across all selected months, removing any duplicate keywords.

      • Amazon Search Volume: Displays the total search volume from the most recent selected month (e.g., if June, July, and August are selected, August’s search volume will be shown).

      • Word Frequency: Totals the frequency of each word across the selected months.

      • Month and Year Labels: Shows when each keyword was indexed, labeled by month and year to highlight its relevance in each period.

Using Historical Trends for Deeper Insights

The Historical Trends feature is located in the Keyword Distribution section at the top. It allows users to choose a single ASIN and apply up to three months of data. Filters can be applied to these months, giving a historical perspective on keyword performance and helping to identify which keywords have consistent value over time.

Accessing This Feature

The month-to-month comparison feature is available exclusively to users with Helium 10’s Diamond plan or higher. For additional information on subscription plans, consult the Pricing Page

By following the steps above, you can leverage Cerebro’s month-to-month comparison feature to gain valuable insights into keyword trends and enhance your Amazon strategy. This powerful tool provides a clear picture of keyword relevancy shifts, enabling data-driven decisions to improve ranking and drive more sales.
