Prestozon Getting Started + Onboarding Resources

How Do I Turn on Automation in Prestozon?

Here's how to turn on bid automation on a campaign level in Prestozon:

Go to the Campaign Manager page in Prestozon (found in the top navigation bar).

For every campaign that you want automatically managed, toggle Automation ON. Then click Apply on the top of the table.

It may take a few minutes to start automatically applying your existing Bid Suggestions.

Every night, Prestozon will evaluate all your keyword-bid experiments and optimize your bids for every keyword.

Here's how to turn on keyword rules automation:

Click on the "eye" icon next to a campaign that has the rule you want to automate.  This will bring you to the rule window where you can toggle the slider to automate the rule!

How Quickly Does Automation Take Effect in Prestozon?

Automation begins analyzing data as soon as you activate it for each campaign.

In addition, we take action on a nightly basis (Pacific time) based on your updated ad performance data for that day.

Automation typically starts suggesting changes after 3 to 5 days for fast moving SKUs.  Slower products will not have as much data to analyze and can take as long as two weeks before suggestions populate.

The automation will use historical data, but if your account is brand new, Prestozon needs to get bid history data before it can make meaningful decisions.

How Much Historical Data Does Prestozon Import and Pull In?

Amazon only stores advertising data for 2 months. When you sign up for Prestozon we pull those two months and pull new data every day. As long as you stay a Prestozon user we will store your historical data so you don’t have to worry about Amazon deleting it.

Prestozon also stores all of your bid history (unique to Prestozon, see the screenshot below) from the time you sign on to the platform. While Amazon only stores 60 days of data (which we import at sign up) there’s significant value in seeing your bid history over time so you can understand why past changes were made in addition to current recommendations. This enables you to understand the impact of seasonality, increased competition over time and better plan for peak seasons based on historical data.

What Amazon Data Does Prestozon Have Access To?

Our software gets all your ad campaign and ad metric data via the Amazon Advertising API (automated communication with Amazon), which is far more detailed than the reports in Seller Central.

We do not have access to any other data such as product listings, customer data, organic sales data, shipping, or SKUs with no ad campaigns. This is less access than most Amazon tools need.

Where Does Prestozon's Data Come From?

We get all data via the new Amazon Advertising API (automated communication with Amazon), which is far more detailed than the reports in Seller Central. We do not have access to any other data such as your overall sales, shipping, or SKUs with no ad campaigns.

What’s the Difference Between a Search Term and a Keyword?

The keyword is what you bid on. The customer search term is what the customer actually searched on, i.e. what they typed into Amazon’s search box. It’s what they were looking for when they clicked your ad.

Amazon will show your ad for search terms that trigger your keyword with either a broad, phrase, or exact match depending on which match type is selected.

What Does Each Amazon Advertising Metric Mean?

There are lots of metrics to consider when it comes to Amazon PPC Advertising. Here's a quick reference list to get you started:

  • Spend: The amount of money spent on clicks on your ads during the time frame selected
  • Sales: The product sales from orders within 14 days of a click on an ad if that click was made during the time frame selected.
  • ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sales): Spend divided by Sales. You can look at this as how much you have to spend on ads per sale.
  • Impressions: The number of times Amazon shoppers saw your ad during the time frame selected, whether they clicked or not.
  • Clicks: How many times users clicked on your ads during the time frame selected
  • CTR (Click Through Rate): The number of clicks divided by the number of impressions.
  • Orders: The number of orders made by users after clicking your ad. Orders are counted if purchase is made within 14 days of the ad click.
  • Conversion Rate: Orders divided by Clicks

For a more comprehensive Glossary of Terms (for Amazon Advertising as well as for digital advertising overall) you can view the Amazon Advertising Glossary of Terms.

Does Prestozon Support Vendor (AMS) Accounts?

Yes! Prestozon is proud to partner with Amazon to be the first to offer comprehensive analytics plus bid suggestions and automation for Amazon Vendors.

To get started, simply sign up with your AMS account. We support all AMS credentials, including Vendor Central, ams.amazon.com, and Vendor Express.

Sponsored Product and Sponsored brands ads are fully supported.  Additionally, we are constantly expanding our functionality offerings as Amazon updates their API capabilities.

How Can I Toggle Between Multiple Seller Accounts within Prestozon?

If you already have multiple accounts under the same user login, you'll see the accounts by clicking on the account ID or display name in the upper right of the application:

FzGcFRNyGLYv0-_iuLn49jmcfao5e8WBsQ.png

If you sell in multiple Amazon marketplaces under different accounts (e.g., the US, Canada, and Europe) and you want to see all those accounts under a single login in Prestozon but don't currently have them connected, here's how:

1. You need to have one email address that has access to all accounts. This is the email address you will use to sign up and login to Prestozon.

One way to get this email address if you don't already have one master email address across your accounts is to create one (for example, prestozon@mycompany.com) and grant that user access to manage Amazon PPC for both your North American and EU accounts.

2. To grant access, go to Seller Central > Settings > User Permissions and invite the new user. Then edit the user's permissions as needed as long as they include Sponsored Products permissions.

3. Finally, use this user to register for Prestozon. Logging in with this new user, you will see both accounts in your Prestozon account drop down menu.

Permissions

Here are our recommended permissions for this user:

If you want to give an employee or assistant access to your account that you've already upgraded and just need an additional user log-in, let us know. We're planning on adding an "add a seat" feature, but for now just open a ticket by emailing Support@Prestozon.com and we'll get it taken care of for you.

How Do I Add a New User or Additional Login to My Prestozon Account?

If you want to add a new user so they can help manage your Prestozon accounts or create additional log-ins, here's how:

1. Create User - Create that user, let's call her Devon@consultingcompany.com, in your Amazon Seller Central Account

2. Enable Permissions - Make sure her enabled permissions include campaign manager and product ads performance reports view + edit permissions in Seller Central

3. Sign up for Prestozon - Have her sign up with Prestozon with her own email (Devon@consultingcompany.com)

At that point, she'll be able to see your accounts in Prestozon as a free user on our Forever Free Prestozon account which is always the first step to connecting to Prestozon.

  • Agency Partner Plan - If your paid subscriptions and accounts are on the Prestozon Agency Partner plan and you have a custom admin promo code, the new user can upgrade from the Forever Free account to full access using your admin promo code or email support@Prestozon.comonce the user has gone through the steps above and we'll upgrade this new users' account for you. There is no additional cost for additional seats at this time.
    • If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of agency partner program email sales@Prestozon.com
  • Individual Paid Subscriptions - if you’re not an agency partner, multi-brand or multi-account subscriber and have an individual subscription please email support@prestozon.com once you’ve completed the steps above and we’ll upgrade the new users account for you. There is no additional cost for additional seats at this time.

This method of adding a user ensures that permissions stay aligned with your permissions in Seller Central, and lets you control these permissions at all times.

Specific instructions on how to create a user and update permissions in Amazon:

To grant access to this new user, go to Seller Central then Settings in the upper right next to the search bar:

Go to User Permissions in the Account Management section (if you do not have this option, you may need an Admin on the account to help you):

To add a new user, go to:

jQPXQB9OrOyngx4VpmS041YsBNlggqhRDQ.png

Then, if needed, edit the user's permissions to include Sponsored Products permissions. Make sure Product Ads Performance Reports and Campaign Manager Permissions are enabled, like so:

tBRzT4Op2PC7mivKuYk5pWlm6Rk7lG4Qyg.png

Finally, have this user sign-up and register for Prestozon here: https://app.prestozon.com/sign-up. Logging in, this new user will see all accounts they have permissions to in the Prestozon accounts drop down menu (in the upper hand right corner of the screen) where they can toggle between accounts.

(Note: Account Upgrades are per user, so the new user and all accounts associated with that new user will be on the Forever Free account by default. They will need to select each account from the dropdown menu and upgrade the accounts for full access. They can either upgrade with an admin promo code if you have one or you can message support@Prestozon.com to have the new user attached to your existing paid account individual subscription.)

Why Am I Being Directed to the .com Site Instead of the .in/.es/.co.uk/etc. Site?

We use Login with Amazon to securely retrieve your API token from Amazon. We never see your password or payment info, just your email and advertising account data.

Amazon directs all logins through Login with Amazon through their .com domain. Your European and Indian logins will still work through the .com login page.

Does Prestozon Support KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) for Authors?

The answer is - sort of. We do the best we can with the limited data that Amazon gives us, but we don't report on page reads and other important author-specific fields.

KDP is part of AMS and we do receive data from KDP accounts. However, Amazon doesn't send us any of the author-specific data fields, including Kindle page reads. So while you will be able to see some of your data, it will be incomplete.

Amazon also does not differentiate KDP accounts from other AMS accounts, so Prestozon has no way to know whether an account is KDP or not.

This will be true for all software services that use Amazon's APIs, unfortunately. We do not know when of if Amazon will start providing more author data, but we do not believe it is their current focus.

How Can I Create Rules for Keyword Suggestions + Keyword Harvesting Across My Amazon PPC Account and Campaigns in Prestozon?

Creating Rules for Amazon PPC Keyword Suggestions + Keyword Harvesting

One of the first things you'll want to take care of once you're connected to Prestozon is setting your ACoS target!

Now that you've set your ACoS target next on your Prestozon getting started checklist is creating keyword rules!

 ✅1. Set your ACoS Target

 ➡️2. Creating Keyword Rules

Here's a quick getting started walkthrough of how you can create rules to harvest your keywords within Prestozon as well as some additional resources to help out.

Creating Rules for Keyword Suggestions + Keyword Harvesting

  1. ACTION: Create Positive and Negative Keyword Rules  When you connect your account to Prestozon you will need to create keyword rules in order to see keyword suggestions. Custom Rules help you continually generate new keywords and negative keyword suggestions. Don’t worry, creating a rule doesn’t make any changes, it generates suggestions you can review unless you decide to automate the rule. If you turn on automation for the keyword rules you will no longer see suggestions as those changes will happen automatically.
  2. HOW TO: Go to Campaign Manager --> click the ? in the “Rules” column for the campaign where you want to create the rules and select either the + or - button (for positive or negative rules). From there it’s 5 quick steps:
    1. Step 1 - Name Your Rule, for example “Magicians Hat Keyword Promotion Rule"
    2. Step 2  - Add Additional Ad Groups, select the ad groups you want to source keywords from
    3. Step 3  - Look for Search Terms in these Ad Groups, if there is a ☑️ we’ll look to harvest search terms from across those ad groups
    4. Step 4 - Create New Keywords Here, select the appropriate keyword circles to create Broad, Phrase or Exact keywords. For Prestozon’s standard keyword promotion rule you would select Broad in your Research Group and Exact in your Performance Group.
    5. Step 5- Create Negative Keywords Here, select the appropriate keyword circles to create Negative Phrase or Negative Exact keywords. For Prestozon’s standard keyword promotion rule you would select Negative Phrase in your Auto Group and Negative Exact in your Research Group.

RESOURCES: Learn more about the basics of our Rules Engine and for when you’re ready for advanced rules customization or watch this quick video ⏯ on creating and editing rules.

TIP: You can create advanced keyword rule configurations by using thresholds (but lets get comfortable with the basic rules first and let us know how we can help at Support). Here's how you can tell your positive and negative keywords apart for Broad, Phrase and Exact match types:

  1. Positive = the blue B, P, E keyword circles are always positive keywords
  2. Negative = the red P, E keyword circles are always negative keywords

15 April 2020

I Added a Negative Phrase Match Keyword in Prestozon; Why Did It Turn into a Negative Exact Match Keyword?

In one scenario, outlined below, Prestozon changes the negative keyword match type to work around Amazon's word-length limitations. Specifically, Amazon enforces a limit of four words per negative phrase match keyword.  If you attempt to add one with more than four words, Amazon will reject this keyword. The limit for exact match words is much longer at 10 words.

In order to maintain your strategy goals in this scenario, Prestozon converts the negative phrase match keywords that exceed four words into negative exact match keywords.  This ensures these keywords are accepted by Amazon and that you still gain some of the benefits of the negative match keyword.

How Do I Add a New Account to an Existing Prestozon User?

If you want to add a new account to an existing Prestozon user, all you (or have the admin on the new account) have to do is give the existing user permissions in the Amazon portal.

This method of adding a user ensures that permissions stay aligned with your permissions in Seller Central, and lets you control these permissions at all times.

Specific instructions on how to do this:

To grant access to this new user, go to Seller Central then Settings in the upper right next to the search bar:

SywFIRZJeljZ3IxBcOqCIfyHwJ7iQ4wg5g.png

Go to User Permissions in the Account Management section (if you do not have this option, you may need an Admin on the account to help you):

rYhKn3hlBiWJV6aiLBc92K0b6ofzk0z5Xg.png

To add a new user go to

jQPXQB9OrOyngx4VpmS041YsBNlggqhRDQ.png

Then, if needed, edit the user's permissions to include Sponsored Products permissions. Make sure Product Ads Performance Reports and Campaign Manager Permissions are enabled, like so:

Ze2SRrXusGei5udvYtjazfFcE_kgLG5MFw.png

tBRzT4Op2PC7mivKuYk5pWlm6Rk7lG4Qyg.png

The account will then automatically be pulled into the user's interface on our next account discovery API pull (twice a day).

(Note: New accounts need advertising data in order to be recognized by the Amazon API.  If this is a brand new account with no advertising data, it may be necessary to create a trial campaign (typically a low budget auto campaign), to get some advertising data for the API to recognize and start sending to Prestozon.)

How Can I Find My Amazon Advertising Account ID in the Ad Console (Since the Migration from Seller Central)?

Amazon Advertising recently migrated all Seller Central accounts to the Amazon Advertising Console.  This means all vendors, sellers and book sellers (KDP) will now access the same advertising platform. With that, Amazon Advertising has changed up some of their naming conventions and IDs.

Whenever Prestozon refers to an account ID, we are referring to what is now known as the Merchant Token.  Here is where you can find that on the Amazon Advertising Console (note that you may need to be an administrator to access some of these windows):

Go to Settings in the top right corner of the Ad Console and click Account Info:

rfcHmuo2DgUnZW7fAPc3WDjuKBEk-YCI4w.png

From there, select the Merchant Token link:

nRPHFRL49-w-WTJH0LKARhbmJ54YIrik1w.png

This is your Merchant Token:

ul6eIyLRHhPCh13CA6Rec5YB36AwTV_dQg.png

Amazon may continue to change these IDs and structures as they finalize the Advertising Console migration, currently this is the best place to find what Amazon refers to as the Account ID (which is the Amazon Account ID you see associated with your account when you're logged into Prestozon).

How Can I Rename My Amazon Advertising Account in Prestozon?

If you have multiple Amazon advertising accounts connected to your email address within Prestozon and want to simplify identification and management simply rename your accounts.

You can rename ad accounts so you don’t have to decipher the Amazon Account ID each time.

  1. 1.Select the “settings” cog/icon, then “Rename Seller Account”
  2. Agency Best Practice Renaming: “CLIENT/Brand-Account ID” = “Prestozon - A2XXXXXXXXXXXX”
  3. When contacting Support@Prestozon.com please reference your account ID or if you're an Agency or Enterprise Partner please also reference your ADMIN promo code (in the subject line) + specific account number.
  4. TIP: If you have a lot of accounts you can also use CTRL+F to quickly search for the account name you want to select, view and manage
  5. Keep in mind that renaming accounts is on a per user (unique email address for login) basis, so each user with a unique email address logging in to Prestozon will need to do this in order to see it updated.
